Guarneri "Kochanski"
The Kochanski dates to 1741 and is considered one of the finest Guarneri violins around. It is named for Paul Kochanski (1887-1934), a Polish virtuoso who owned it for a time. It has been played by Aaron Rosand since 1958 and is known for its warmth and depth. The Dimbath offers a good blend of handsomeness, facility, warmth, and Cremonese quality displaying a particularly attractive varnish and ground. The Kochanski is capable of the most extraordinarily beautiful tone colors. |
